Notice to Fill Vacancy for the Office of County Attorney by Appointment

NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILL VACANCY FOR THE OFFICE
OF HARDIN COUNTY ATTORNEY BY APPOINTMENT

The Board of Supervisors of Hardin County, Iowa, hereby gives notice pursuant to Iowa Code Section 69.14A of its intent to fill a vacancy for the office of Hardin County Attorney by appointment. This appointment shall be for the period of time until the next pending election. The Hardin County Board of Supervisors will meet to appoint the County Attorney position at 8:00 a.m. on May 23, 2018.

You are further notified the electors of Hardin County have the right to file a petition requiring the vacancy be filled by special election. Said petition must be filed with the County Auditor within fourteen days after the publication of this notice or within fourteen days after an appointment is made, and said petition must contain signatures by eligible electors of the county equal in number to at least ten percent of the votes cast in Hardin County for the office of President of the United States in the November 2017 election.
