During their regular weekly meeting on October 11, 2017, the Hardin County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution declaring the month of October as Manufacturing Month.
A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING MANUFACTURING DAY, 2017 IN HARDIN COUNTY
WHEREAS, manufacturing is a critical component of Hardin County with more than 6,040 manufacturing firms operating in Iowa; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing is ranked second among Iowa's major sectors in average wage and salary earnings per job with manufacturing firms in Hardin County employing 660 individuals; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing innovation drives Hardin County's economic growth, giving workers the resources to remain the most productive in the world; and
WHEREAS, Hardin County recognizes that Iowa ranks sth in the nation with 18.3% of the Iowa's Gross Domestic Product a direct result of Iowa manufacturing with it being one of the largest major sectors in the State's economy which significantly contributes to Iowa's standard of living; and
WHEREAS, Hardin County recognizes the importance of a thriving manufacturing sector, works to fuel. economic growth, builds a future for our citizens, and is a strong representative of manufacturing in our state; and
WHEREAS, Hardin County's prosperity depends on the education and vocational opportunities that align with manufacturers' skilled-labor needs; and
WHEREAS, Hardin County congratulates all of our manufacturing companies for their contribution to the long-term stability of local and national economics.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Hardin County Supervisors hereby designates and proclaims the month of October, 2017 to be Manufacturing Month for Hardin County.
