[ARCHIVED] Property Taxes Due Saturday, March 31st

Tax Time

Hardin County Treasurer, Machel Eichmeier, would like to remind property owners that the second installment of property taxes is due Saturday March 31st, 2018, however since this date falls on the weekend you have until April 2 to pay with no penalty.  Property tax information may be obtained online at www.iowatreasurers.org or by calling the Treasurer’s Office at 641-939-8230. To avoid penalty on the second installment, payment must be received in the Treasurer’s Office or postmarked by April 2, 2018.

Payments may also be posted online by E-check for less than the cost of a postage stamp!  The fee is just $.40 per transaction at www.iowatreasurers.org.  Credit card payments are also accepted online; however there is a non-refundable service delivery fee to pay. When paying on line by credit card, you have the opportunity to review the total charge and exit the system prior to completing the transaction.

All citizens of Hardin County are invited to visit the website at www.iowatreasurers.org. This site allows you to do business with your County Treasurer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Resources available on the site include vehicle registration renewals, property tax, motor vehicle and driver’s license forms answers to frequently asked questions and important dates and information for conducting business with your County Treasurer.

Please notice that Hardin County has undergone a computer software program change and we have not been able to process tax payments as efficiently as we have in the past. We are making every effort to process your tax payments as soon as possible and apologize for the inconvenience this delay may cause.
