The Hardin County Board of Supervisors will hold an auction on August 31, 2022, at 9:00 AM, in the large conference room, lower level of the Hardin County Courthouse, to sell the following property (locally known as the Round Barn property):
The West 110 feet of the North 196 feet of Lot 1, Slayton Farm Plat, Iowa Falls, also the East 33 feet of the roadway adjacent to and west of the real property. Section 14, Twp 89 North, Range 21 West.
The property is being auctioned with reserve – the winning bid being subject to approval of the Hardin County Supervisors at the auction. The conveyance will be by Quit Claim Deed.
Buyer takes “as it”. The County makes no warranty about the property. To the best of the County’s belief, the property is on and subject to the requirements of the National Historical Registry. Also, bidders should view the property for potential encumbrances that may not appear on a record search. The County has reason to believe an adjacent land owner receives utility service by way of the subject property. Further, there is a recorded deed showing Hardin County conveyed the property to a county commission that is now defunct: the Hardin County Historical Preservation Commission.
